It was a happy day when I found this picture in Mother’s old papers. So far as I know, this is the only candid picture we have of Carona. It is clear she is an integral part of Papaw’s life support system. How blessed we are to have had her looking after all of us.
The most memorable fishing story I know was that one day PaPaw fell from the boat. Franticaly, Uncle Jeff (or somebody) tried to pull him up, but to no avail. As panic began to set in, everyone realized that Papaw was, for some unknown reason, holding onto some roots in the bottom of the lake. Finally, the others were able to free him and bring him to safety.
Does anyone remember this story? Do I have the facts correct (or sort of correct)?

For Mothers Day this year we all went to Johnny’s house in Olive Branch. Anna had just graduated from Blue Mountain the day before, and there was lots of preparation done (and lots left) for Anna and Mattswedding next weekend. We said Happy Hearts and enjoyed burgers on the grill… mom’s favorite.
At the 2007 reunion in Fredericksburg, Boo recites the Three Candles poem that Fanfee shared with lots of folks over the years.
This is an example of how we will begin to chronicle our rich family heritage.
I’m pretty sure Mom is pregnant with Johnny in this photo, and apparently she is the only one that didn’t get the memo that there was no smiling allowed during pictures.
